Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine shop hiring just 4 people. Total sales for that particular year amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and other parts. Through five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 employees and their annual sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is among the leading global manufacturers within the material handling trade.
Design and production of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder allowed this young company to aggressively engage in better business opportunities. Throughout the final 60 years, the industry of material handling has grown into a really advanced field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its growth. Cascade presently continues to grow as the best provider of lift truck attachments and numerous associated items. The company feels confident in their potential to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining competitive within the international market.
Throughout the 1950's, Cascade began to fabricate, design, and sell its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was built in 1956, so as to house all the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which continues to be the company's present head office. Following 15 years of business, total staff reached 180 workers and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.
The next manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary move into the international world of the material handling industry when the company recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are manufactured internationally thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This facility is designed to be the essential customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and 1997 subsequent to acquiring 5 corporations, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the international best in blades.
